Passenger dies on Yerevan - Saint Petersburg flight

An investigation is being conducted into the death of a 44-year-old passenger of a Yerevan-Saint Petersburg flight. Yesterday the plane made an emergency landing at the airport of Rostov-on-Don in Russia, investigator Artyom Marchenko said, according to Interfax.

“The passenger suffered from a serious disease. He was flying to Saint Petersburg for treatment. When the man was taken ill, the crew tried to help him, but to no avail. They had to make an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don where an ambulance was waiting for the patient,” the investigator said.

The man died, despite efforts of doctors. According to investigators, he died on the plane. The cause of death has not yet been established.
