Sharmazanov: Freedom, democracy and anarchy are different notions

“We must be able to ensure citizens’ right to free expression of their will and to freedom of assembly,” spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Edward Sharmazanov said.

Commenting on the November 5 events on Mashtots Avenue in Yerevan, he said that some opposition figures, being afraid of losing their opposition dividends, had no courage to declare that making such calls and organizing a revolution by means of explosives is an incorrect step.

“Regrettably, no opposition figure has so far condemned that violation of the law. Freedom, democracy, and anarchy are different notions,” Sharmazanov said.

According to him, foreign and domestic policy issues, including the upcoming elections of Ararat city mayor, were discussed at the sitting of HHK Executive Body yesterday.
