Hayrikian: President’s resignation cannot change anything

The resignation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan cannot change anything and will not be efficient unless a number of problems are solved prior to that, the chairman of the Union for National Self-Determination (AIM) Party Paruyr Hayrikian told reporters today.

In his words, the resignation will be efficient if the president makes a number of new appointments before his resignation.

“A knowledgeable person who will give appropriate assessments of Russia’s behavior and who has a spiritual affinity for the European system of values should be appointed as prime minister. He should call upon the parliamentary speaker to resign so that he will not succeed the president,” Hayrikian noted.
