Armenian parliament discusses Ishkhan Zakarian’s reappointment
The Armenian parliament discussed today reappointment of Ishkhan Zakarian as chairman of Armenia’s Control Chamber.
Deputy of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Nikol Pashinian recalled the statements made a few months ago about violations in state institutions. In his words, those statements had no consequences.
In his speech, Nikol Pashinian also touched upon the issue of Ishkhan Zakarian’s detached house. He asked Zakarian what money he built that luxury house with.
In response, Ishkhan Zakarian said that Pashinian has twice asked that question from the parliament rostrum, noting that the parliament is not the place where one can speak about anything.
The HAK faction deputy declared for his part that it is in the parliament that issues of concern to society should be voiced.
“In fact, Ishkhan Zakarian is unwilling to explain to the public where he got a house worth several million. Mr. Zakarian, I insist that you as a chairman of the Control Chamber should answer the questions concerning your detached house. Explain the mechanism to Armenian citizens”, Pashinian told Ishkhan Zakarian.
