Group of Armenian citizens against accumulative pension system

A group of Armenian citizens will stage a rally against the country’s parliament today to protest again the draft law on amendments to the Law on the Accumulative Pension System. The initiative group calls upon parliamentary deputies not to infringe on citizens’ social rights.

Under the draft law, starting from January 1, 2014, Armenian citizens born after 1974 will have to transfer from 6.6% to 13% of their salaries to a private pension fund.

The draft will be discussed at the special session of the parliament today.
