President receives Uruguayan minister of tourism and sport

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Uruguay’s Minister of Tourism and Sport Ms. Liliam Kechichian, the presidential press service said.

Welcoming the government member of friendly Uruguay in Armenia, the president stated he is proud to see Diaspora representatives holding such high positions. In his words, this fact shows that, while preserving their national identity, Armenians actively integrate into society, making a contribution to the given country’s development.

The sides discussed the opportunities of developing Armenian-Uruguayan cooperation and strengthening the relationship between the two friendly countries in various spheres, including in tourism and sport. Serzh Sargsyan said that Liliam Kechichian’s wide experience in the sphere and the information about Armenian tourism’s potential she received during her visit will contribute to active cooperation between Armenia and Uruguay.
