Expert of Aysor.am witnesses ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani troops often violate the ceasefire in the northeaster direction of the line of contact of the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. Expert of Aysor.am Tigran Abrahamian witnessed the latest violation.

Political expert Tigran Abahamian, who along with the defense minister’s advisor David Jamalian visited front-line positions, told the correspondent of Aysor.am that ‘the heavy gunfire opened at Armenian positions is yet another proof that Azerbaijan continues to violate the ceasefire after the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair stressed in their recent statement the importance of observing the ceasefire ahead of the presidential summit”.

“Such incidents in various sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and on the line of contact of Karabakhi and Azerbaijani troops ahead of the presidential summit cause additional tension,” T. Abrahamian said.

On November 16, around 12:30 pm local time, the Azerbaijani armed forces – in defiance of calls by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs – violated the truce once again and opened heavy gunfire on areas of Tavush province, Armenia. The gunfire lasted until 2:00 pm local time.
