Serzh Sargsyan receives Kuwait governor

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today a delegation led by the Governor of Kuwait Sheikh Ali Al Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the presidential press service reported.

S. Sargsyan said with satisfaction that Armenian-Kuwaiti relations are developing dynamically and mutual visits at various levels have already become traditional. He stressed that the friendly ties between the Armenian and Arab peoples have centuries-old history and on this firm basis, interstate relations between Armenia and Arab states, including Kuwait, are successfully developing today. Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that the governor’s visit will give renewed impetus to the expansion of Armenian-Kuwaiti relations.

The interlocutors underlined the dynamic cooperation achieved in various spheres in recent years, which is due to the opening of embassies in the two countries and active work of their ambassadors.

President Sargsyan thanked the people and government of Kuwait for their friendly attitude towards the Armenian community and the creation of favorable conditions for the preservation of Armenian national traditions, religion, and cultural values. He also expressed his gratitude for assistance to Armenia under various programs.

The sides discussed the spheres considered promising in terms of expansion and promotion of further cooperation and the opportunities of deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
