Poverty level made 32.4% in Armenia in 2012
The National Statistical Service of Armenia released today the report ‘Social Snapshot and Poverty in Armenia’ that presents the results of studies conducted in 2012.
According to the report, in 2012, poverty level in Armenia declined as compared with 2011. In 2012 poverty level was 32.4%, declining compared with 2011 (35.0%).
The number of very poor and extremely pour citizens also declined compared with 2011. Very poor citizens made up 19.9% of the population in 2011 and 13.5% in 2012.
Those whose consumption is 37,044 drams per capita are considered poor in Armenia, those whose consumption amounts to 30,547 drams and 21,732 drams are considered very poor and extremely poor, respectively.
