Is Armenia at deadlock or crossroads? Discussions before Vilnius summit

“We are in a situation that gives cause for suspicions. One cannot express an opinion about a document whose essence is unknown. We don’t know details of the Customs Union as well as global ‘big’ issues. The same is true of the Association Agreement with the European Union,” the head of Against Legal Arbitrariness NGO, first Armenian Ombudswoman Larisa Alaverdian said today during the discussion ‘Is Armenia at a deadlock or a crossroads? Ahead of Vilnius”.

“It is time for Armenia to develop its definite course and start playing a part in regional and global politics instead of being happy that a country at last regarded it with favor,” Ms. Alaverdian said.

“There is nothing new in the fact that association with Europe means that you have an independent political face and implement a policy together with the people who have a high degree of trust in the country’s authorities,” she said, denouncing the decisions taken outside Armenia.
