Russian president arrives in Armenia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Armenia for a state visit. The Russian president’s plane landed at the airport of the city of Gyumri. He was welcomed by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan there.

S. Sargsyan and V. Putin will head to the Gyumri Dramatic Theatre to participate in the launch of the 5th unit of Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant in a video conference format. The two presidents will attend a sitting of the 3rd Russian-Armenian interregional forum and visit the Russian military base in Gyumri.

In Yerevan, the presidents of Armenia and Russia will lay wreaths at the Memorial to the Armenian Genocide Victims. At the conclusion of talks, joint documents are expected to be signed and the two presidents will make a statement for the press.
