Ombudsman to apply to Constitutional Court over pension problem

The Armenian ombudsman joined the four parliamentary factions opposed to the introduction of a compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia on January 1, 2014.

The Ombudsman Office said they will join the factions and apply to the Constitutional Court as soon as possible.

Today the parliamentary majority voted against the proposal to postpone for a year the introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system.

The leader of Heritage parliamentary faction Zaruhi Postanjian called for a national strike.

The protesters marched toward the government building.
