Date of compulsory pension system introduction remains same
The parliamentary majority today voted against the proposal to postpone for a year the introduction of a compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia. The proposal has been submitted by ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, Prosperous Armenia party (BHK), Heritage, and Armenian National Congress (HAK) factions.
46 deputies voted for postponement, 54 voted against. Deputy of HAK faction Aram Manukian said they failed to solve the problem in the parliament so they will take other actions.
ARFD deputy Vahan Hovhannisian proposed that representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia should meet with those protesting outside the parliament and explain their actions.
