Sargis Asatrian: Azerbaijan becomes concerned

Azerbaijan is concerned that Armenia will purchase arms at Russian domestic prices, expert Sargis Asatrian said. In his words, the fact that Azerbaijan ceased its bellicose rhetoric in the past few days is related to the Russian president’s visit to Armenia, which ‘played a deterrent role’.

According to Asatrian, Russia tries to involve as many members as possible in the Customs Union, but Azerbaijan’s membership is unlikely. “It is hard to imagine Armenia and Azerbaijan as members of the same union,” he said.
