Production of phones to start in Armenia
Domestic production of phones will start in Armenia soon, the parliamentary deputy of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Party Artsvik Minasian said at a meeting with reporters today. According to him, the announcement was made at the sitting of Armenia’s Industrial Policy Council today.
The deputy answered questions concerning the pension reform, saying that they will file an application to the Constitutional Court next week.
We would remind you that it is planned to introduce a compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia on January 1, 2014. Citizens born after 1974 will have to pay 5% of their salaries to pension funds. The voluntary component of the accumulative pension system has been used since January 1, 2011.
The opposition factions of the National Assembly proposed holding a special session of the parliament on November 15 to discuss the issue of postponing the compulsory accumulative component’s introduction until January 1, 2015. The session did not take place.
An initiative named ‘I am against Compulsory Accumulative System’ has been set up. It has staged numerous protests. The Armenian ombudsman has joined the initiative.
