Some motorists to have right to free parking

After paid parking lots marked with red lines appeared in Yerevan streets following a decision of the Yerevan Municipality, officials of the city municipality have noticed that almost no places for free parking remained in the city.

Now city authorities have taken a decision to make amendments to the regulation adopted a year ago, PastInfo news agency said.

A decision on the order of allocation of parking lots for offices was included in the agenda of the upcoming December 10 sitting of Yerevan Council of Elders.

In all appearances, during this time the city authorities have received a lot of complaints from businessmen and officials of state bodies that their employees and customers cannot find parking areas because of the introduced ban on parking in areas other than paid parking lots.

The new draft decision means that legal and juridical persons may apply to the Yerevan municipality and under certain conditions they will receive the right to free parking in specific areas.
