Edward Naldandian receives new ambassador of Italy

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received today the newly-appointed Italian Ambassador to Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli who presented the copy of his credentials, the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Welcoming the guest, E. Nalbandian said that Armenian-Italian relations have a thousand year old history. He wished success to the newly-appointed ambassador and expressed hope that his activities will contribute to the expansion and deepening of cooperation. In his words, the atmosphere of trust between the two countries and their close historical ties form a solid basis for new achievements.

Ambassador Ricciulli thanked the foreign minister for the reception and said he will do his best to promote Armenian-Italian cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to organization of mutual visits, promotion of inter-parliamentary contacts, extension of the legal and contractual basis, encouragement of trade and economic links as well as decentralized and cultural and educational cooperation.

Edward Nalbandian informed the ambassador about the latest developments in the Karabakh conflict settlement and the efforts of Armenia and the international community on the peaceful resolution of the conflict.
