MES: We are ready for winter

We are ready for the winter, regardless of whether it will be snowy or not, Head of the Crisis Management Center of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Hovhannes Khangeldian told journalists today.

“Preparatory work began in the fall and now we are ready to come to the aid of our population in case of emergencies in Armenia. Our special equipment is ready, all vehicles are equipped with winter tires,” Colonel Khangeldian said, adding that MES actively cooperates with Transport and Communication Ministry and the Yerevan Municipality.

Asked to assess the snow and ice removal work of Yerevan municipality, H. Khangeldian replied: “I myself drive a car and have not so far encountered a problem on roads, although an unexpected problem may arise during the first snow”.
