Artsvik Minasian: Government lost touch with reality

If the government and the political majority even occasionally communicated with Armenian society, they would not lose touch with reality, the deputy of ARFD parliamentary faction Artsvik Minasian said in the parliament today when discussing the upcoming introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system.

“If you display goodwill and speak to society and protesting youths, you will realize that their mistrust is not related to the state or statehood – they simply don’t believe the system whereby part of salaries will be transferred to private funds,” Minasian said.

In his words, the documents submitted by the government and the majority lack logic. “Unfortunately the political majority rejected the proposal for a dialog,” the ARFD deputy noted.

Addressing the government, Artsvik Minasian said that his words are not just a statement of political opposition. “It is the voice of society that elected you. If you don’t want to listen to our voters, then you should listen to your voters,” the deputy said.

According to him, if the package of reforms is not withdrawn, it only remains ‘to pack things and leave’. “These words apply to the government and those who support the draft. I mean leaving power, not the country,” A. Minasian said.
