SCPEC starts pre-New year monitoring of markets
The State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) will strengthen checks in Armenian markets in the pre-New Year period, the commission chairman Artak Shaboyan told journalists today.
He said that business entities with a dominant position in markets will be held accountable in case of raising prices. “We began daily monitoring in the markets with a high degree of concentration. We consider markets with few entities as potentially risky,” Shaboyan said. According to him, SCPEC will pay special attention to markets of social importance: egg, dairy produce markets, etc., and control the price formation.
