Zhoghovurd: OEK tries to ‘snatch’ money from government
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper says that despite the official poverty level of 32.5% in Armenia, Orinats Yerkir Party (OEK) considers it important to receive money from the government for itself. According to the newspaper, the OEK parliamentary faction proposed to allocate additional funds from the 2014 budget to increase financing of parties.
“It should be mentioned that the Armenian government did not reject the request and ‘by the 2014 draft state budget, about 75.5 million drams will be allocated for state assistance of parties’. Thus the ‘main problems’ existing in the country have been solved. OEK will receive money from the state in order to, as the first Armenian president put it, ‘work as the appendix of the Republican Party of Armenia,” the paper writes.
