Phthisiatric units to be closed in Armenian provinces

The Armenian government today took a decision to close down phthisiatric units in Armenian provinces. The draft decision was submitted by Health Minister Derenik Dumanian.

The minister proposed to close several regional units due to the small number of patients and organize their treatment at the Republican TB Dispensary.

TB units of hospitals in the cities of Aparan, Artashat, Armavir, Ijevan, and Gavar will be closed down.
