Person detained over soldier’s death

A person was detained over the death of Private Vanichka Hovakimian, the head of the Investigation Service of Armenian Defense Ministry Major General Armen Harutyunian told RFE/RL Armenian service today.

The body of conscript of the Armenian armed forces V. Hovakimian was found yesterday. He died from a gunshot wound to the jaw. He was a resident of Chinary village in Tavush province.

According to preliminary information, Hovakimian committed suicide. A criminal case was opened.
