Accumulative pension system opponents holding march

Opponents of the accumulative pension system’s introduction in Armenia are holding a march to Armenia’s Constitutional Court.

“We hope that the Constitutional Court will prove at least once that it is an independent body and acts on behalf of citizens,” a participant said.

Among those taking part in the march are representatives of four parliamentary factions – ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, Heritage Party, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Armenian National Congress.

By the draft bill adopted by the parliament, the compulsory accumulative pension system will take effect on January 1, 2014.
