HAK to raise issue of no-confidence to government

Under Article 84 of the Constitution, Armenian National Congress Party (HAK) plans to raise the issue of holding a vote of no confidence to the government at the upcoming session of the Armenian parliament, HAK said in a statement.

HAK calls on non-pro-government parliamentary and non-parliamentary political forces to support the initiative.

“Since 2011 the Armenian authorities have for three years concealed from the National Assembly and the public the rise in the price of natural gas supplied to Armenia and the accumulation of a big state debt. The excuses are absurd because over that period the wholesale gas price has risen twice, at first to $240, then to $280 per thousand cubic meters,” HAK said in the statement.

According to HAK, the government also violated the laws on the state budget for 2011, 2012, and 2013 and accumulated a state debt of over $300 million.

‘The Armenian authorities also violated the Law on State Property Privatization. Without making any changes in the revenues of the budget, they chose to sell 20% state-owned shares of ArmRosGazprom Company to Russia’s Gazprom in order to pay the illegally accumulated foreign debt. As early as October 2012 HAK said in the parliament that the government secretly and illegally took a decision about the sale of those shares. The government denied this information at the time, but now it has been confirmed by facts and documents,” the statement says.
