Special session of parliament accompanied by protest

The National Assembly’s special session convened today on the Armenian government’s initiative is being accompanied by a protest staged by civil society members.

A number of international agreements will be discussed at the session – namely the agreement on the purchase and sale terms of shares of ArmRosGazprom CJSC and its further activities, the agreement on the price formation order in case of natural gas delivery to Armenia. The agreements were signed by the governments of Armenia and Russia on December 2.

The protesters say the ratification of those agreements will be another step on the path of depriving Armenia of its sovereignty. They demand that public opinion should be taken into account.
