Nikol Pashinian: Agreement with Russia not ratified by Armenia

“Four of the seven members of the parliament’s counting commission were not present at the sitting and did not ratify the voting, which means that the agreement with Russia on the terms of the purchase and sale of shares of ArmRusGazprom CJSC and its further operations has not been ratified by the Republic of Armenia,” the deputy of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Nikol Pashinian said during the protest held outside the Armenian parliament.

“The counting commission was to hold a sitting and approve the voting, but four of the seven members of that commission were not present at the sitting. The commission did not take any decision. The agreement has not been ratified,” Pashinian said.

In his words, the speaker of the Armenian parliament has no document showing that the counting commission approved the vote results.

Let us remind you that the agreement signed with Russia concerning the terms of the purchase and sale of ArmRosGazprom Company’s shares and its further operations has been ratified by the parliamentary majority. 77 deputies voted in favor of the document. The non-coalition forces boycotted the vote.
