Government sets social benefits

The Armenian government today set the amounts of social benefits – old age benefit, disability benefit, benefit paid in connection with the loss of the breadwinner, and funeral benefit.

The old age benefit was set at 14,000 AMD, disability benefits – at 19,600 AMD (for 1st rank disabled persons), 16,800 AMD (2nd rank), and 14,000 AMD (3rd rank).

The benefit in connection with the loss of the breadwinner is 14,000 AMD. For children under 18 who lost both parents, the benefit was set at 70,000 AMD.

The amount of funeral benefit is 200,000 AMD.

The decision takes effect on January 1, 2014.
