100 babies were born in the Armenian community of Aleppo in 2013. On the occasion of the New Year and Christmas, gifts were distributed to the families of these children on the initiative of Primate of Berio Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Shahan Sargsyan, according to Facebook page of Berio Diocese.

The initiative was supported by Diaspora Armenian organizations and private persons who provided financial assistance to the program. The New Year gift sets included dairy products, baby formulas, household goods, and clothes.

“The joy and cries of 100 children who gathered in the Armenia church symbolize a new life, while their smiles inspire faith in the future,” Berio Diocese said in a statement.
