Civic initiative to hold rally against new pension system on January 18

The civic initiative against the compulsory accumulative pension system will stage a rally in Liberty Square of Yerevan at 2:00 pm on January 18. The civic initiative issued a statement that particularly says:

“As is known, four factions of the Armenian parliament applied to the Constitutional Court requesting that the law be recognized as unconstitutional and be suspended by a petition until the Constitutional Court takes a decision. The CC has to take a decision until January 25”.

The aim of the rally is to inform the public about the anti-constitutional and antisocial points of the law, demonstrate a unity, readiness and determination to carry on a struggle to the Armenian authorities, and demand that the Constitutional Court should suspend the law and then recognize it as anti-constitutional.

Following the rally, the initiative plans to stage a march along the following route: Liberty Square – Northern Avenue – Abovian Street – Amirian Street – Mashtots Avenue – Liberty Square.

The civic initiative calls upon all interested citizens and political forces to take part in the rally and the march.
