Seyran Ohanian takes personal control of beaten soldier case

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian visited on January 13 the military unit from where 18-year-old conscript Mher Khlghatian was transported to the Central Military Hospital with injuries and pneumonia.

“Seyran Ohanian familiarized himself with the situation and ordered an internal investigation. He took personal control of the case,” the defense minister’s spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisian told Aysor.am. He said that the condition of M. Khlghatian is improving.

A criminal case was opened under two articles of Armenia’s Criminal Code. The serviceman’s relatives said that he was beaten up in his military unit. He suffered numerous injuries.
