Zaruhi Petrosian: Thaw on the way

Temperatures are expected to rise in Armenia in the coming days as a surge of warm air is moving into the country, the head of the State Service of Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations Ms. Zaruhi Petrosian told a press conference today.

Precipitation is not likely in the next five days. “Daytime temperatures will reach five degrees in Yerevan over the weekend. Snow and a rise in temperatures are expected in the third ten-day period of January,” she said.

The cloudy conditions and fog and the resultant cold weather only prevailed in Ararat Valley and the foothills of Vayots Dzor province and Meghri region.

Thanks to the warm cyclone, winds have become stronger and the frost subsided.
