NKR MFA: Ceasefire violation must be condemned

Foreign Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic issued a statement in connection with the Azerbaijani subversion in the direction of the NKR Defense Army’s positions on the night of January 20. According to the press service of the NKR MFA, the statement says:

“On the night of January 20 Azerbaijani troops made two simultaneous subversive attempts in the northeastern (Jraverd) and southeastern (Korgan) directions of the line of contact with the Nagorno Karabakh Republic”.

The statement notes that the provocative actions of the Azerbaijani side, especially ahead of the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, bear evidence of aggressive intentions of official Baku and deal a serious blow to efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Karabakh.

“Yet another violation of the ceasefire by the Azerbaijani armed forces, which led to bloodshed, must receive an adequate assessment and strong condemnation of the international community,” the statement of the NKR MFA reads.
