Melik-Shahnazarian on Azerbaijani losses: 7 dead, 20-30 wounded

The unsuccessful attacks of Azerbaijani reconnaissance-subversive groups on the night of January 20 left seven Azerbaijani servicemen dead: 4 saboteurs were killed in the Jraberd direction, another 3 in the Hadrut direction, Director of Voskanapat Analytical Center, political scientist Levon Melik-Shahnazarian told reporters today.

“Azerbaijan’s claims that they did not suffer losses are not true. Seven were killed and 20-30 wounded. On the Armenian side, Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisian was shot dead, no one was injured,” L. Melik-Shahnazarian said.

“We dealt with a special group. Our servicemen were conscripts. At one of our posts, nine Armenian soldiers destroyed a whole subversive group, which bears evidence of their excellent combat training,” he said.

According to L. Melik-Shahnazarian, the bodies of two Azerbaijani saboteurs are still in the neutral territory. ‘They are afraid of collecting the bodies of their soldiers, while we don’t need them,” he noted.
