S. Ohanian: Armenia to buy long-range high-precision missile systems
Special attention is paid to the purchase of long-range high-precision missile systems as part of military technical cooperation, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian said at a press conference today.
“These agreements will be fully implemented this year,” he stressed.
Speaking about the ratification of the new agreement on Armenian-Russian military technical cooperation, S. Ohanian said that military cooperation between Armenia and Russia has a long history and allows the republic to solve a number of security issues.
According to Ohanian, under the new agreements on military technical cooperation to be ratified in the near future, Armenia will have the opportunity to purchase weapons, equipment and ammunition at Russian domestic prices.
Seyran Ohanian stressed that the agreement on the purchase of modern arms, which was signed by the defense ministers of Armenia and Russia as early as 2010, envisages expanding military capacities, while the new agreements will enable to set up joint structures in the two countries.
