Armenian defense minister: We will spend 2014 in peaceful conditions
The Armenian troops are in fool control of the situation on the border, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian told reporters at the Yerablur military cemetery today.
Army Day is marked in Armenia today, on January 28.
‘Thanks to the fighting spirit and cold-blooded decisions of our soldiers, we manage to repel any attack. There is little chance today that the war will resume. The international structures dealing with the Karabakh problem have already issued a statement urging the sides to observe the ceasefire. I am sure that they condemn Azerbaijan’s actions, but keep silent because the negotiating process requires a parity approach,” Ohanian said.
According to him, Azerbaijan has fired more shots today in connection with the holiday in Armenia.
“More shots were fired overnight than usual, but the situation is under control. Although the military political situation in the region is volatile, it is under control. These shots have become an everyday occurrence, but there is no reason for alarm. I assure you that we will spend the year 2014 in peaceful conditions,” the Armenian defense minister said.
