E. Nalbandian receives OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received today the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Igor Popov of Russia, Jacques Faure of France, and James Warlick of the U.S. and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
Nalbandian and the Co-chairs discussed the possible ways of promoting a peaceful resolution to the Karabakh problem.
The Co-chairs informed Edward Nalbandian about their impressions during the meetings in Baku.
Nalbandian stressed the necessity of preventing Azerbaijan’s constant provocations, saying that Armenia fully shares the Co-chairs’ opinion that the incidents on the border with Armenia and on the Line of Contact with Nagorno Karabakh troops hinder the negotiating process and reduce the prospects of establishing peace.
In this connection the Armenian foreign minister underlined that Armenia shares the Co-chairs’ opinion about the need to fully implement the trilateral agreements on the establishment of the ceasefire in May 1994 and on the strengthening of the ceasefire regime in February 1995 and to put into practice the initiatives on the withdrawal of snipers from the Line of Contact and the mechanisms of investigating border incidents.
