35 ha of forests to be restored in Armenian provinces

A regular sitting of the Board of Trustees of Armenia’ Forest Restoration and Development Fund took place today. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan chaired the sitting, according to the press office of the government.

The report on financial and economic activities and the financial report for 2013 were given.

Then the programs to be implemented by the Fund in 2014 were presented. In particular, it is planned to restore a total forest area of 35 hectares in Tavush, Shirak and Gegharkunik provinces this year and to do sanitary work on about 100 hectares in Kotayk province.

Forest restoration will continue in 2015. It is also planned to complete forest restoration work in Erebuni forestry of Yerevan this year, during which new methods will be used to prevent possible landslides. A water line and a fence were built in the area last year.
