'As CSTO member, Armenia should receive arms free of charge'

“It is quite natural that Russia sells arms at low prices to Armenia, a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. It is curious that Russia does not give arms free of charge because equipping the members of this quite serious organization is the responsibility of its heads,” Vice President of the Center for Modeling of Strategic Development Grigory Trofimchuk told Vesti.az.

In his words, Azerbaijan is currently ‘hung’ between two military-political poles – CSTO and NATO and spends large sums on what it can receive cheaply. Trofimchuk said that Azerbaijan may receive modern Russian weaponry if it joins the CSTO.
