V. Papazian: Customs Union will become platform of political unification

“We didn’t lose our independence, we just need to struggle for it,” ex-Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Papazian said today at the discussion “Armenia Today and Tomorrow”. According to him, one should not compare the current period with the 1990-s.

Ex-Foreign Ministers Alexander Arzumanian and Vartan Oskanian also participated in the discussion.

“Our problem is in the policy implemented by the current authorities. And the point is not only that the illegitimate authorities are looking for support outside the country,” Papazian noted.

In his words, there are no irreversible phenomena in politics and everything which is taking place now can be rectified later.

Speaking about Armenia’s entry into the Customs Unions, Vahan Papazian frankly said that he does not quite understand what kind of union the Custom Union is.

“I think the Customs Union will become a platform for political unification, that is, the task will be a political, rather than economic one,” the ex-foreign minister said.
