Karine Achemian: Provocations serve Baku’s current political purposes

Azerbaijan has been trying recently to show, by means of various ‘experts’, that in Armenia there are forces, which gain from the situation’s escalation on the border. Ms. Karine Achemian, a deputy of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) parliamentary faction, told the correspondent of Aysor.am that tension and regional instability contradict Armenia’s interests so Armenia does its best to ensure stability in the region.

In her words, Azerbaijan will not succeed in shifting the blame for border provocations onto Armenia. The Azerbaijani propaganda machine is spreading rumors that such a situation is advantageous to Armenia, she said.

According to Karine Achemian, the border provocations are controlled by the Azerbaijani president’s staff and serve that country’s current political purposes.
