MES: Armenian-Russian humanitarian center to be set up

The creation of small aviation is a priority of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), Deputy Director of the MES Rescue Service Nikolai Grigorian told journalists today.

“The launch of airports in Stepanavan and Kapan remains on the agenda. Small aviation will enable to carry out air search and rescue operations and will also be used to extinguish forest fires,” Grigorian said.

In his words, active work is underway to set up an Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Center. “The Russian side is expected to invest $12 million in the center’s establishment - for the purchase of equipment, vehicles and a helicopter,” Nikolai Grigorian said.
