Activists of Dem.am movement disrupt pension reform event

As was reported earlier, a group of activists of ‘I am against’ (‘Dem.am’) civil movement entered the conference hall where an event entitled ‘Third Annual International Pension Conference: Opportunities, Challenges, Prospects’ was being held.

The activists asked the event participants to give them three minutes in order to express their opinions about the introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia, but the organizers refused to do so.

In response, ‘I am against’ movement members quoted Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan as saying at the recent congress of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union that 80% of the public is against the new law.

The organizers stopped the conference, noting that its work was over.
