John Heffern: U.S. worked with Armenia on pension reforms

The pension reforms are necessary and we have worked with the Armenian government on the development of the new pension system, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern said at today’s conference on Armenia’s transition to the compulsory accumulative pension system.

According to him, the pension funds chosen by Armenia are respectable organizations enjoying international prestige. The ambassador at the same time stressed the need for further work aimed at informing the public about the pension reforms. The Armenian government still has much work to do in this direction, H. Heffern said.
