Residents of dilapidated building in Yerevan ordered to vacate it

At 23:10 pm on February 23 Rescue Service of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations received information that side walls of a residential building at 3 Sisakian Street in Yerevan are weakened and could collapse.

Two crews of the ministry were sent to the scene.

It turned out that the 5-story building with 126 apartments built in 1972-73 has been considered a 4-category accident-prone building since 2003. The side walls have weakened. The bearing walls are cracked, and water from old sewer pipes seeps through walls, resulting in anti-sanitary conditions.

Residents were told to live in temporary shelters until the problem’s final solution.
