D. Harutyunian urges factions to set aside mutual distrust

In response, D. Harutynian noted that mutual distrust should be set aside. He called on the factions to do joint work. “I can indicate twice as many reasons for distrusting you, “Harutyunian said.

In the words of the HAK faction leader, the matter concerns distrust of the authorities and the government, rather than personal distrust.

“You have a chance to restore trust: you can do it by answering openly to all the questions of interest to the public,” Zurabian said.

It should be noted that the chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs David Harutyunian, a representative of the parliamentary majority – HHK faction, made a report today when the initiative of a third of MPs to set up an interim commission for examination of the gas supply system’s work was being discussed in the Armenian parliament. He proposed holding the interim commission’s sittings behind close doors. Harutyunian said that it is a sensitive issue and since the matter does concern purely political debates or an end in itself, it would be better to use this option. By the draft, the commission should have a balanced structure: the number of representatives of the authorities and the opposition should be proportional.
