Karine Achemian: Azerbaijani president avoids responsibility

“The Nagorno Karabakh conflict has not been settled not because the OSCE Minsk Group works badly, but because Azerbaijan doesn’t work towards a peaceful resolution,” the deputy of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) parliamentary faction Ms. Karine Achemian told Aysor.am when commenting on the statement of the Azerbaijani parliament’s vice speaker.

The Azerbaijani parliamentary vice-speaker Ziafet Askerov has declared that the work of the OSCE Minsk Group produces no results and that it is a ‘dead’ group.

According to Karine Achemian, the Azerbaijani president does his best to protract the negotiations and avoid responsibility for the conflict settlement.

“If a side has no desire, in this case the mediators cannot do anything. Baku clearly understands this. Under such conditions it is wrong to shift the blame for the unresolved conflict onto the Co-chairs,” she said.
