Armenia attaches importance to development of ties with Georgia
Armenia attaches great importance to the development of Armenian-Georgian relations, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said.
“The friendly relations of the Armenian and Georgian peoples are a guarantee of mutually beneficial cooperation and the best way to maintain regional stability,” S. Sargsyan said at the briefing following his negotiations with Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili in Yerevan.
In his words, the strengthening of partnership ties with Georgia is an important component of Armenia’s foreign policy.
“The number of mutual visits has considerably increased in recent period, which bears evidence of a high level of relations. There was one visit at the level of prime ministers and 15 visits at the ministerial level last year,” the Armenian president said.
He expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will provide an opportunity to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached earlier and map out the prospects of further economic cooperation.
