Iskandarian: Ukraine today is divided into twelve, not two

Part of power in Ukraine is now in the hands of armed groups, Director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandarian told journalists today.

In his words, Ukraine today is divided into twelve, rather than two. “Unlike Egypt where there was an army able to bring the situation under control, there is no such thing in Ukraine. It is hard to imagine how order will be introduced there,” Iskandarian noted.

Commenting on the situation in Crimea, the political scientist expressed an opinion that Russia will have no difficulty taking the peninsula. “Crimea is not Abkhazia or South Ossetia. After all, Crimea is a headache for both Ukraine and Russia,” Iskandarian said.
