Paruyr Hayrikian undergoes surgery

The leader of the Union for Self-Determination (AIM) Party Paruyr Hayrikian underwent surgery in a Yerevan hospital yesterday. He told Aysor.am that today he was already transferred from the intensive care unit to a ward.

“I had a problem caused by inflammatory processes. I had pain for a long time, but I consulted a doctor only yesterday,” Hayrikian noted. He did not rule out that the inflammation had to do with drugs that he began to take after he was shot and injured last year.

“I had never taken drugs before that shooting incident, but I have used a lot of antibiotics since last year,” Hayrikian explained, adding that doctors do not say yet when he will be discharged from the hospital.

We would remind you that Paruyr Hayrikian was a presidential candidate in the 2013 elections in Armenia. An attempted murder was committed against him on January 31 of last year, during the election campaign.
